
B Level (Intermediate)
Commercial Truck Technician
The B-Level Commercial Truck Technician performs routine and moderately complex repairs
with minimal supervision. This role requires solid diagnostic abilities and a strong understanding
of commercial truck systems.
Key Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled services independently

Diagnose and repair brakes, steering, suspension, and basic electrical systems
-
Troubleshoot and repair air systems and cooling systems
-
Assist with engine, transmission, and driveline repairs
-
Perform DOT inspections and ensure compliance
-
Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults
-
Document repairs and communicate findings to service advisors
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred

2–5 years of commercial truck or diesel technician experience
-
Working knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems
-
Ability to read service manuals and wiring diagrams
-
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred
