B Level (Intermediate)

Commercial Truck Technician

 The B-Level Commercial Truck Technician performs routine and moderately complex repairs 

with minimal supervision. This role requires solid diagnostic abilities and a strong understanding 

of commercial truck systems. 

Key Responsibilities

  •  Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled services independently 

  • Diagnose and repair brakes, steering, suspension, and basic electrical systems 

  • Troubleshoot and repair air systems and cooling systems 

  • Assist with engine, transmission, and driveline repairs 

  • Perform DOT inspections and ensure compliance 

  • Use diagnostic tools and software to identify faults 

  • Document repairs and communicate findings to service advisors 

Qualifications

  •  High school diploma or GED required; technical training preferred 

  • 2–5 years of commercial truck or diesel technician experience 

  • Working knowledge of diesel engines and vehicle systems 

  • Ability to read service manuals and wiring diagrams 

  • Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred
