Commercial Truck Technician
The A-Level Commercial Truck Technician is a senior technical expert responsible for advanced
diagnostics, complex repairs, and mentoring junior technicians. This role plays a key leadership
function in ensuring shop efficiency, quality, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair complex mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues

Perform major engine, transmission, and aftertreatment system repairs
-
Troubleshoot advanced electrical, CAN bus, and ECM issues
-
Lead complex diagnostic cases and root-cause analysis

Perform final quality checks and road tests
-
Mentor and train B and C technicians
-
Assist service advisors with estimates and technical guidance
-
Ensure compliance with DOT, OEM, and shop standards
Qualifications
-
High school diploma or GED required; advanced technical training preferred
-
7+ years of commercial truck or diesel technician experience
-
Advanced diagnostic and electrical expertise
-
Strong knowledge of OEM platforms and after treatment systems
-
ASE Master Technician or equivalent certifications preferred
-
CDL strongly preferred
